1978

1978
In 1978, while living in Brampton, I made a batch of my red sauce and decided to “jazz” it up by adding cloves. Too many cloves. The result was a disaster that made the air in our apartment un-breathable and wound up down the drain. In 2014 when we were writing material for our 40th anniversary, this story came to light and Mariana convinced me that we could make this sauce properly. So in 2015, we did just that. Using a proper proportion of powdered cloves, ghost and cayenne peppers, lemon and ginger we created a truly distinct and very hot sauce. The label features a backdrop scene of Hamilton’s Main Street in the 1930’s.
